1. Identify the target insect
The required opening depends on whether the main concern is moths, leaf miners, aphids, whiteflies, thrips or another pest. Ask for the actual opening or verified mesh specification rather than relying on a product name alone.
2. Protect ventilation capacity
As openings become smaller, pressure drop increases and natural ventilation can decrease. Greenhouse opening area, fan capacity, local temperature and humidity should be considered before selecting a very fine mesh.
3. Confirm construction and UV grade
Review material, yarn construction, finished width, dimensional stability and UV stabilization. A consistent mesh and secure installation are both necessary to reduce pest entry.
4. Plan installation and maintenance
Measure vents and sidewalls carefully, minimize gaps at joints and repair tears promptly. Dust accumulation can further reduce airflow, so cleaning and inspection should be part of the operating plan.
